Tips to Avoid Being Labeled a Bonus Abuser

Below are some tips and strategies to avoid being labeled a “bonus abuser”, “bonus seeker”, or “advantage player”.

Please note that being labeled a bonus abuser is a fairly rare occurrence. I have personally played at over 200 different online casinos and been labeled no more than a half dozen times. In every case, my deposit amount was returned to me, and in all but 2 cases, my winnings were paid out as well.

As noted, even if you are labeled as a bonus abuser the vast majority of online casinos will still payout all owed funds. However, the real downside is that your account will no longer be eligible for monthly/reload bonuses, and if the casino is part of a larger casino ownership group, you may be barred from receiving promotions at other casinos owned by that group as well. For most casinos, this really isn’t that big a problem since most reload bonuses are of little value anyway. However, the casinos that you want to concentrate these strategies on are those that offer monthly bonuses, frequent profitable reload bonuses, or have other casinos owned by the same group that offer quality sign up bonuses. Maintaining good standing with these few dozen casinos that offer the best monthly/reload bonuses is really the lifeblood of long term success using our strategies here at CasinoBonusPages.com.

By following the strategies below, you will help to ensure that you remain eligible for monthly/reload bonuses. Also, keep in mind that the less like a bonus abuser you appear, the better the chances that you will be offered more profitable account specific reload bonuses on future deposits.

Wait to Withdraw

If possible, never withdraw your funds right after completing the wager requirements. Wait at least a day or so, and sometimes as much as a week if you can handle having your funds tied up a little longer. Personally, I would say I wait an average of 5 days after completing the wager requirements before initiating a cashout. I understand that this can be an issue for a new player with a limited bankroll. The player may be awaiting the funds in order to deposit to the next casino on their list. When that is the case, feel free to withdraw whenever you see fit, just maybe apply some of the other strategies listed here.

Cover Play

Applying a little “cover play” before withdrawing is a good idea in most cases. The best time to use cover play in my experience is after completing the wager requirements, prior to withdrawing. You can play a few dollars worth of slots; make a few small sports wagers if the casino offers a sportsbook, or play a few hands of 3 card poker or Caribbean Stud. However, you need to always make sure that the games you decide to use for cover play are allowed under the terms and conditions of the bonus. Even some progressive slots games are banned from play with some bonuses, so make sure you know the rules in all cases. Personally, I like to use cover play when I return to a casino a few days after I have completed the wager requirements. Once I play a few hands for cover play, then I withdraw.

Also make sure to maintain your discipline and composure when doing cover play. I have seen many players lose large sums of profit, when they are unable to stop playing after losing a few dollars doing cover play. Set a limit for yourself, say $5, $10, or $20 that you are willing to lose doing cover play, and stop and withdraw once you hit that limit.

Stay Under the Radar

When talking/LiveChatting/emailing with customer support about bonus terms, WR, etc., don’t sound too savvy. Don’t make it sound as if you have done this countless times. It doesn’t hurt to play a little dumb and/or naïve. For instance, if you are certain you have completed the wager requirements, yet customer support tells you that you still need to wager $150, just wager the $150 and don’t argue that you been accurately tracking every wager that you have placed. Regular gamblers do no do this, bonus abusers do, and casinos know that.

Leave Some Funds in Your Account

Some players like to withdraw around 2/3 of their balance after the WR is complete, then go back and try to double up the remaining 1/3 left before cashing out again. While I don’t often apply this strategy myself, it is certainly a good way to appear more like a legitimate gambler and less like a bonus abuser.

Progressive Betting

Applying progressive betting strategies definitely makes you look more like a gambler and less like an advantage player. Likewise, even if you lose, looking like more of a gambler will make you more likely to receive profitable account specific reload offers in the future. Spread Out Play

Many casinos are part of a particular ownership group that may run a few, or even a dozen casinos, most often on the same software brand. When playing more than one casino from the same ownership group, it is a good idea to spread out your play a bit. Don’t sign up for more than one casino from the same ownership group at a time. I would recommend not signing up for another casino from the same group until you have completed the wager requirements for one casino, and received all funds back into Neteller. Even if you happen to lose everything at one casino in a group, don’t go straight to the next casino in that group. Wait at least a few days, if not a week or two before opening an account at another casino from a particular group. Tracking bonus abuse across an ownership group is one of the quickest and easiest ways to get labeled an abuser by the entire group.

Please keep in mind that just because casinos use the same software, they are not necessary owned by the same group. Look in each casinos review on CasinoBonsuPages.com for each casinos ownership group.
